Jim Mitchell began his career in the auto industry in 1969 and over the next fifteen years he served as salesperson, F&I Manager, General Sales Manager and became a partner in a Buick Mazda Dealership. After selling his interest in the Auto Dealership, in the mid 1980's, Jim began his own Automotive Management Consulting and Sales Training Company.

It was during this time that he was offered and accepted the appointment as Executive Vice President for REC Technologies an Automotive Electronic Manufacturer. Through the next six years he expanded sales and distribution throughout the USA and into more than twenty countries.

"Running two separate companies was more than I could do effectively so I decided to resign my position as Executive Vice President and continue my desire to consult with dealers and train managers and sales people in the Auto Industry".

Jim has provided sales and management training seminars and consultation to many individuals in the Auto Industry, the Marine Industry and to several companies throughout Europe, South Africa, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. Seminar classes ranged from tens to several hundreds of attendees and many of his seminars involved the use of an interpreter to translate material content.

Jim closed his company in December of 2003 to accept a position with the NIADA Management Team and in February of 2004 he accepted the appointment of Executive Director of the OIADA.

"I am truly blessed to be able to offer more than forty one years of automotive, business management, consulting and sales & management training expertise to this organization and I am looking forward to meeting and working with all of our current members and to the addition of all the new members who will desire to become a part of the "NEW OIADA".

"There is a lot of experience for each member to draw from and to insure that we can answer any of your questions or concerns , we have contracted with one of the premier law firms on Automotive Dealer Law in the country and we have also been blessed to have built strong relationships with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, the States Attorney General's Office and the Department of Revenue. The Automobile Industry is more challenging than ever and dealers should become part of a team that can provide the answers to all of their questions in a timely manner and provide guidance to insure that every one of its members are legally and morally compliant which will ultimately insure their success as independent used car dealers".
